Day 5: Enjoy a mexi-hot and a scoop of ice cream at Meyer's DairyThe building is marked by a small wooden sign which could easily be overlooked by passers-by. Outside the glass doors sit boxes of plants for sale. But inside, directly ahead, is one of the only farm fresh ice cream counters in the area.
It does not take long to realize that Meyer's, 2390 S. Atherton St., is not an ordinary dairy. It is best described as a combination general store/restaurant/dairy. Where else do customers have the choice of sitting in a spacious dining room, or outside in a semi-wooded picnic area to enjoy ice cream made on the same premises?
Regardless of where they eat it, many seem to agree Meyer's ice cream is the best and freshest tasting around.
