The Museum recounts the story of Commonwealth citizens who served our country in defense of the nation. Their service is highlighted through exhibits and artifacts that are documented by the museum's excellent collection of vehicles and small arms. The current exhibit, Tactics and Logistics of Warfare, examines the organization of the armed services in the 20th century and the Pennsylvania connection to each. America's only all-water cavern and wildlife park are nestled in Central Pennsylvania's scenic Penn State Country. The cavern tour is a guided one-hour tour by motorboat on an underground stream. Along the limestone corridors, stalagmites, stalactites, flowstone cascades and draperies decorate the interior rooms, while underwater, trout swim and jump for feed! The farm and wildlife tour is a guided 90-minute motorized tour over 1,500 acres of Penn's Cave forests and fields which have been carefully preserved as a natural habitat for birds, plants, and animals. North American animals, such as bears, wolves, elk, deer, bobcats, bison, longhorn cattle, mustangs as well as the Penn's Cave Icon, the cougar.

Enjoy the Raptor Center, with twenty birds of prey, hiking trails, picnic areas, bookstore and gift shop, and an inside interactive museum dubbed the "Discover Room" has snakes, turtles, kid-friendly displays, and more. Nestled high on the southern slopes of Mount Nittany above the historic village of Linden Hall, Mount Nittany Vineyard & Winery commands a breathtaking view across the valley to the distant Tussey Mountain Range. Just seven miles east of State College and Penn State University, the vineyard and winery are located in the heart of 65 acres of land which stretches to the top of Mount Nittany.

One reason behind the success of the winery is a well-suited microclimate. The open exposure and excellent air drainage on the southern slope of Mount Nittany protects against early and late frost damage and creates a favorable environment for growing European and hybrid wine grapes. The five acre vineyard has seven varieties, including Cayuga, Seyval Blanc, Riesling, Chardonnay, Vidal Blanc, de Chaunac, and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Day 6: Go to a State College Spikes Game Next Month!

Back to the blog...it's been a busy past couple of weeks. Thanks for all of the great suggestions on the facebook discussion board, I am going to begin using those suggestions from the discussion board for the daily thing to do. Next month, the State College Spikes will take the field for the beginning of their spring season. Head out to the ballpark next month and enjoy a hot-dog, cold soda, and some baseball! After the game, stick around for the fireworks!

Fans Arriving from Bellefonte - Take PA - 150, which becomes East College Avenue / PA 26. Turn right onto Porter Road.

Fans Arriving from Altoona & Points South - Take I-99 North. Merge onto U.S 322 East toward State College / Lewistown. Take Penn State University Exit and merge onto Park Avenue. Turn left onto Porter Road

From I-80 East & West - Take I-80 and merge onto I-99 South via Exit 161 toward U.S 322 / Bellefonte. Take the exit toward Innovation Park / Penn State University. Merge onto Park Avenue and turn left onto Porter Road.

From Harrisburg / Philadelphia & Points East - Take I-76 West toward Valley Forge. Merge onto I-283 North vie Exit 246 toward Harrisburg/Hershey. I-283 becomes I-83 North. Merge onto U-81 South via exit 51-A. Take U.S 22/ 322 West to Exit 67 toward State College. Take the PA-26 exit. Turn left onto East College Avenue and turn right onto Porter Road.
